From Challenge to Real Collaboration: What We Achieved in Two Years

When AGCO joined DLG.prototype.club @AGRITECHNICA 2023, the mission was clear:
to explore one of agriculture’s most complex automation challenges —
multi-route optimization for autonomous infield machine collaboration.

A Challenge Designed for Real Impact

Coordinating multiple agricultural machines in real time is a major step toward fully autonomous field operations.
AGCO’s challenge, initiated by Laszlo Füri, aimed to find intelligent algorithms capable of optimizing routes, improving efficiency, and reducing energy use — all while keeping machine stability and field safety in balance.

Startups and research teams took up the challenge, bringing diverse approaches from AI-based simulation to sensor fusion and real-time communication systems.
The format of DLG.prototype.club provided what innovation needs most:
a direct bridge between bold ideas and real industrial application.

The Winning Concept: Data-Driven Machine Collaboration

Among all participants, one team stood out — OmegaLambdaTec.
Their data-driven approach convinced the jury with both technical depth and practical feasibility.
But the story didn’t end there: after the challenge, AGCO commissioned OmegaLambdaTec to further develop and implement the prototype — turning a competition idea into a AGCO project.

Their technology forms an important part of the roadmap for future harvesters and tractors – driving advancements in machine coordination, reducing energy consumption, and enabling smarter, more connected farming operations.

“Since the 2023 challenge, we’ve seen how valuable it is to connect startups and corporates in such a direct, practical way. What starts as an experiment can turn into lasting innovation.”
Laszlo Füri, AGCO

Why It Matters

For AGCO, the collaboration with OmegaLambdaTec demonstrated the power of formats like DLG.prototype.club.
It’s not just about discovering talent — it’s about accelerating technology transfer, building new partnerships, and creating tangible results that move the agricultural industry forward.

From Ideas to Implementation

The AGCO Challenge of 2023 was just the beginning. 2025 PTx is setting a new topic: “Customized 3D-based Path Planning for Agricultural Machinery.”

The goal remains the same — to bring together the brightest minds from startups, research, and industry to solve real technological challenges and shape the future of smart farming.

The next success story is already in the making.
