PATRONAGE

Parliamentary State Secretary Daniela Kluckert as patron of the Mobilitython

We are pleased to introduce Parliamentary State Secretary Daniela Kluckert as patron of the Mobilitython. She is passionate about innovation and sustainable digital infrastructure to shape the future of mobility. Daniela Kluckert emphasizes the importance of the partnership between business and government to shape the mobility of tomorrow. She sees the integration of intelligent technologies such as smart grids and electromobility as the key to sustainable mobility design.

WHAT IT'S ABOUT

Challenges in the mobility sector

The mobility sector is facing enormous challenges. New drive concepts require not only interaction with intelligent infrastructure, but also the right talents with the fitting solution. Micro-mobility complements inner-city traffic, which adds another layer of complexity.

The goal of prototype.club

Innovative startups and tech talents work in competitive mode on functional prototypes for industry challenges. This event takes place before and during IAA Mobility 2023 (05th-10th Sep 2023). The team with the best solution receives a follow-up order.

How prototype.club helps

Where neither the solution is clear nor companies are established, prototype.club helps. It is a platform that facilitates a 14-day developer sprint during IAA Mobility 2023.

IAA.prototype.club: The professional hackathon

IAA.prototype.club is the professional hackathon with physical ``live coding`` during IAA Mobility 2023. This provides an opportunity to experience digitization haptically.

THE CHALLENGES

Reporting system for number of cars to be tested

Challenge

  • Develop a way to synchronize data between TÜV Nord and car dealerships/ garages
  • Consider an incentive system for the car dealership/garage to use. Assist with the data collection of the cars
  • Record how many cars to be inspected in a car dealership/garage
  • Make the deployment of inspection engineers more plannable and less stressful

Background

  • TÜV inspectors do regular tours to car dealerships/ garages for main inspection, etc.
  • The car dealerships/ garages have no overview of the availabilities of the TÜV inspectors and for the TÜV inspector there is no overview of the workload in the respective car dealerships/ garages (number of inspections)
  • Therefore the deployment of TÜV inspectors is currently tied to schedules instead of being based on actual demand.
  • Currently there is no data exchange between TÜV and the car dealerships/ garages, because lack of interfaces of dealer management systems and TÜV Nord management systems. Due to a large number of different systems in use, a uniform interface is not possible and not the aim of this challenge.

Radar-assisted delivery robotics

Challenge

  • Design and develop an ROS based software for delivery robots that utilizes radar and ultrasonic sensor technology to enhance its obstacle detection, avoidance, safety, and emergency handling capabilities.
  • The sensors should enable the robot to operate safely and efficiently in various sub-/urban environments.

Background

Bosch produces a large variety of high-quality and well-functioning sensor systems for the automotive sector. These sensors can also be used in different industries, e.g. the growing last-mile and micro-mobility robotics market. With often still small quantities of robots this sector can benefit from the use of these components.
